The My Girls' Room Brand Story
My name is Sarah Gorman. I am a wife, a sister, a daughter, a friend. I have a passion for makeup and anything beauty related! If it looks good, smells good, and feels good, I’m all for it! I first discovered my passion for makeup on YouTube years ago, after spending hours watching tutorials and spending crazy amounts of money on products that I saw other influencers using.
I transitioned into Freelancing and doing makeup on people. I did this for 3 years and loved every minute of it.
Then my entire life changed when I turned 24. I found out I was Pregnant and with Twins! Week 23.5 of my pregnancy did nothing but give me a new outlook on life. All three of us almost died.
As usual, I went for my monthly check up. This time instead of getting good news, I discovered that my daughter was not growing as fast as her brother. My hands and feet started to swell and I gained 10+ pounds in one week. As this was alarming to my doctor. They advised me to monitor my blood pressure.
Days later, I did just as they told me. I checked my blood pressure and it was violently high! Obviously concerned, my husband drove me to the hospital. They put me into a delivery room, hooked me up to machines, poked my arm so many times and did this day in and day out for 4 days! By the end of the week, they advised that I have developed early onset pre-eclampsia, and that my kidney was failing. There was excessive protein in my urine and advised that my kidney function was performing so poorly that I had to be induced and deliver my babies or I too would lose my life.
Fast forward to today, I can say this was the worst experience of my life however, there was beauty in losing them. One year later, I decided to start “My Girls Room Beauty Brand”. My Girls’ Room is my brand that combined both of my passions, makeup and my children.
“My Girls’ Room Beauty Brand is a brand that was created to bring awareness and support women who have lost babies during pregnancies specifically to pre-eclampsia, but also to all other causes such as miscarriages and/or infertility.
We donate a portion of our proceeds to preeclampsia research in efforts to find a better solution.
